Fendi’s Liquid Gold Draws Inspiration From Rome

The mysterious streets of Rome with strong, stylish women walking the cobblestone streets next to giant monuments, stirred the creation of a fragrance that was modern yet historical. The fragrance is warm and familiar with an unexpected lightness. Notes: Pear-blackcurrant Accord, Tangerine from Calabria, Pink Peppercorn from Reunion Island, Damascena Rose, Yellow Jasmine Accord, Patchouli from Indonesia, Soft Leather Accord.

Local Is the New Global

In a country gone mad for locavore goods, what's a global product line to do? Infuse the flavors of different regions. Absolut New Orleans—Absolut Vodka's 2007 effort to help fund Hurricane Katrina relief—serendipitously kicked off what has become the brand's highly successful City Series. The mango and spicy black pepper-flavored vodka, sporting a harmonica on the clear label, was issued in limited edition (35,000 cases), with all proceeds donated to Gulf region charities. Each year since, a new "local" and limited-run Absolut has been released. In 2008, Absolut Los Angeles debuted with the flavors of acai and an Old Hollywood-style spotlight label. 2009 went to Boston, with a blend of black tea and elderflower flavors behind a Fenway Green label. For Absolut Brooklyn in 2010, the company recruited Spike Lee to design a brownstone label reminiscent of his old neighborhood. Inside, mingles red apple and ginger flavors. Just in time for summer 2011, the latest city vodka, Absolut San Francisco, was introduced, with a melange of grape, dragonfruit, and papaya flavors and an equally colorful label of San Francisco icons. Throughout the rollout of these regional vodkas, the company has also repackaged the flavors under new names for broader distribution. New Orleans is now the slightly milder Absolut Mango; Los Angeles is Absolut Acai; Boston is the breakaway Absolut Wild Tea, and Brooklyn is repackaged as Absolut Orient Apple.

Nightclub & Bar Convention

March 7-9, 2011; Las Vegas

Alcoholic beverage trends start in bars and clubs, with mixologists creating innovative flavor combinations much the way chefs set the trends in the culinary world. The Nightclub & Bar Convention features the latest new products and drink recipes from both the top companies and small start-ups.

One of the highlights includes "The Battle of the Mixologists" live competition where the countries up-and-coming mixologists create original concoctions judged by a panel of the nations leading mixologists. This truly represents the future of the category!

Two new additions to the show this year were entire sections devoted to craft beer and one for high-end tequilas; reinforcing the explosive growth those categories experienced in the past few years.
